Dear Editor,
Sorry to hear about the necessity for Stabroek News raising the price of its daily newspaper from $80 to $100 due to the unwarranted attack on the newspaper by the PNC-led APNU+AFC Government’s Department of Public Information.
Dear Editor,
It would be most helpful if it can be ascertained whether the relevant Minister did authorise the closure of the Old Age Pension Office in Cornhill Street, Stabroek, with effect from December 23, 2019 and its reopening on January 02, 2020 – a pay day for its clients.
Almost immediately after it entered office in May, 2015 the APNU+AFC government was the beneficiary of the mind-boggling announcements about the vast reserves of oil that had been discovered by ExxonMobil and its affiliates in the offshore Stabroek Block.
Dear Editor,
The nation has been, during the past couple of weeks, paying tribute to Basil Butcher for his contributions to the County of Berbice, the nation of Guyana, and the West Indies.
Dear Editor,
Mr Earl John in a letter published in the December 20, Stabroek News `More sugar levy history’ sought to give some perspective on the sugar levy.
Dear Editor,
The news that two former Windies cricketing legends – Clive Lloyd (now to be referred to as Sir Clive) and Gordon Greenidge – were honoured in Her Majesty, the Queen’s New Year Honours List is just fantastic!
Dear Editor,
It is with the greatest frustration and disgust that I pen this letter to your paper on behalf of my fellow residents of Karasabai village in the South Pakaraimas.
Dear Editor,
I refer to a letter from Charles Sohan in the December 13th 2019 edition of Stabroek News captioned `Aquaculture will not return GuySuCo to profitability’.
Dear Editor,
It is unfortunate that Mr. Shashi Tharoor could stoop so low to demonize India’s PM Narendra Modi on so many fronts in his article `Narendra Modi’s second partition of India’ (SN December 24th).
