Dear Editor I was somewhat bemused to see the notice in SN of February 21 from the Ministry of Public Security (MoPS) declaring Sunday, March 12 a public holiday in respect to the Hindu Festival of Phagwah.

Dear Editor, On December 29, 2014, the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) held its last Biennial General Meeting, when Anil Beharry of the Young Warriors Cricket Club, succeeded Keith Foster of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sport Club as President, by defeating Victor Seebarran on a vote of 22 to 16.

Dear Editor, One Sunday last year I heard a radio programme on the Fire Service whereby a senior officer was saying that he had paid a visit to Linden, and being informed of the type of system that was used by the Fire Service many years ago when it was managed by the Demerara Bauxite Company (Demba), thought it the ideal system they would like to put in place.

Dear Editor, Reference is made to the article ‘PPP support for term limits has not changed –Ramotar’ (SN,  February 27).

Dear Editor, Since assumption to office as president, David Granger would have taken home approximately $50 million in terms of salary, a sum which excludes any of the additional significant sums he would have obtained from frequent overseas trips.

Dear Editor, I noticed with much pain of heart that for the 47th Republic Anniversary, President David Granger pardoned only 9 persons and all were female.

Dear Editor, At the opening ceremony of the 28th Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM which was held in Guyana on February 16-17, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, CARICOM Secretary-General and Chairman, David Granger failed once again to present meaningful and concrete policies and programmes for implementation for the social and economic growth and development of Community Members to enable them to service their heavy debts and provide employment opportunities for their people.
