Bafflement

Dear Editor, I am somewhat baffled; your article on page 11 of yesterday’s edition ‘Airport cop arrested for stealing passenger’s phone’ states the perpetrator of the act on further interrogation told the police she handed the phone to her boyfriend who is a member of the GDF.

UG should be honest with the diaspora

Dear Editor, I think that that announced gathering slated for several months hence, and to be held at UG involving the diaspora is a good thing; and that the opportunity should be used to clear some air. 

Wash bays on bridges still in operation

Dear Editor, I refer to an article in Stabroek News on Thursday, February 2, re ‘Queenstown wash bays told to shut -city in moves to standardise sector’, which in part reports Town Clerk Royston King as stating “wash bay operations would no longer be allowed on bridges”.

Intermittent phone service in North Rupununi for last four months

Dear Editor, Since the launch of GTT’s cellphone service in the North Rupununi a couple of years ago, the quality of service has been far from perfect, but we the residents of Annai and surrounding villages were grateful because at least we could make immediate phone contact with Georgetown and Lethem and other places with access to cellphone service.
