Cell Phone Shack gives support to Kashif and Shanghai knockout tournament

Cell Phone Shack yesterday presented an undisclosed sum of money towards the successful hosting of the Kashif and Shanghai Knockout tournament at their North Road main branch.

According to a press release, in keeping with their aim to always have maximum involvement of the fans, Cell Phone Shack has included some special prizes (cell phones) that lucky fans will have the opportunity to win at various games throughout the tournament.

Games will be contested in Linden, Georgetown, Berbice, West Demerara and East Coast.

Organizer of the tournament, Kashif Muhammad expressed gratitude to Cell Phone Shack at the presentation, stating that they have always partnered with the entity for the development of the sport since the establishment of their business in 1993, the release noted.

Muhammad indicated in the release that Cell Phone Shack’s annual sponsorship of the tournament does not only provide for the players but also the spectators as it is a tradition for them to contribute cell phones as special giveaway prizes to spectators.

According to Muhammad preparations are in progress and are in perfect order as they are currently engaging with mega sponsors.  Muhammad concluded that the equipment for the annual competition has been ordered already and both the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and Guyana Football Referees Council (GFRC) will be engaged to ensure the tournament is a success.

Meanwhile, Jamaican Reggae artiste Jah Cure along with two international DJs from Jamaica and the United States are scheduled to entertain the crowd after the final at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence on January 1, 2012.
Fixtures for the tournament will be available for the various teams by this weekend.
