The local 2014 cycling season will pedal off today in Berbice with the staging of the third annual Benjamin Sports Store 40-mile road race.
Sponsored by overseas based Guyanese and former national cyclist, Wilbert Benjamin and organised by the Flying Ace Cycle Club, the event is scheduled to attract the cream of Guyana’s wheelsmen.
The race pedals off from the Fyrish Village based entity at 08:00hrs proceeds to the No 51 Police Station and returns to the point of origin for the finish.
Prizes will go to the top six senior finishers, top three juniors and veterans under 45 and the first four novices.
There will also be eight sprint prizes up for grabs.
