Golden Jaguars receive kits,set to wing out today for World Cup qualifiers

With the departure for their opening 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers set for today, the Golden Jaguars officially unveiled their latest match day and training kits yesterday from recently inked sports supplier Admiral.

approximately four years. Prior, the GFF under the Colin Klass administration in 2011 had signed a four year deal with American sport company Plus One Fashion (+One) at approximately US$350,000 annually in value.

According to Director of Communications and Marketing Rawle Toney, the federation and Admiral has inked a four year deal which will see the English company supply playing kits to the national Women’s, U23 and national league teams.

He noted that unlike the previous deal which saw the GFF receive a financial package, the current contract will position the GFF as the official distributors of the brand locally and that they will receive a percentage of all profits made through the merchandising of the national team products.

Toney further said that the GFF is currently in stock with fan and replica team jerseys for impending return leg on June 14th, declaring that the costs will be $2000 and $6000 respectively.

Guyana will open its FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign away from home on June 10th against St. Vincent and Grenadines at the Arnos Vale Stadium from 15:30hrs. They will then contest the return leg four days later at the National Stadium in Providence.

Unlike previous qualification tourney’s, CONCACAF has opted to make the first three rounds of the event elimination matchups, with the fourth and final round utilizing a group format.

In terms of the management staff, Jamal Shabazz will serve as the Head-Coach alongside Wayne Dover in his familiar role as Assistant Coach while Andrew Hazel, Trevor Burnett and Anson Ambrose will serve in the capacities of Goalkeeper Coach, Equipment Manager and Trainer respectively.

Mark Xavier and Faizal Khan will occupy the respective Team Manager positions whole Duane Saunders and Beverly Nelson will serve the Physiotherapists.
