Jagdeo at Rome meeting on forests

Former President Bharrat Jagdeo (right) has  urged the FAO’s Committee on Forests (COFO) to play a more active role in the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals related to rests and food security, a release from his office said today.

Guyana Bahamas Association donates to `Five Bs’ programme

Minister of Social Cohesion Amna Ally, this morning, received a gift of 60 bicycles from the Guyana Bahamas Association that will be distributed under President David Granger’s Boats, Buses, Bicycles plus Breakfast and Books (‘Five Bs’) programme, a release from the Ministry of the Presidency said.

GRA lifts dress code

The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) has removed its dress code. “We don’t want the taxpayers to feel as if we are turning our backs on them… and more so if they are coming to pay their revenues,” Chairman of the GRA Board Rawle Lucas told Stabroek News yesterday.
