Atlantic CC registered another win in the ongoing 2019 USA Clement Busta Lawrence Premier League at the weekend on the back of a number of strong performances by their cadre of Guyanese players.
Atlantic defeated Spice Island CC by five wickets. Batting first, Spice Island were bundled out for 150 inside 39 overs. Micah Narine (54) and Troy Baptiste (34) were the leading run scores.
Joseph Brown (2-22) along with Guyanese spinners Ashmead Nedd (1-17) and Trinson Carmichael (1-24) combined to produce stifling spells to limit their counterparts while off-spinner Keon Lake (1-40) was tad expensive.
Atlantic, in response, rocketed to 151-5 in 29.1 overs. GCC’s Winston Forrester who registered a fist round century, top scored again with 55 – decorated with four fours – while his local club mate Treon Ford took his side over the line with an unbeaten knock of 30.
