Jamaul John continues to show sublime late season form.

Six days after sprinting away with the Victor Macedo Memorial Road Race title outside the National Park, the Team Coco’s wheelsman took his talents inside the Park yesterday and took the spoils of the feature 35-lap event of the Laparkan Holdings multi race programme.

John stopped the clock in one hour, 18 minutes and 14 seconds in a thrilling four-man sprint.

He led breakaway mates, Briton John and Curtis Dey onto the podium.

Michael Anthony finished a close fourth while Kemuel Moses outsprinted the remnants of the 30-man peloton. Last year’s winner, Chris Griffith rounded out the top six rewarding positions.

The top four, arguably the best four riders in the 592, established a lead in the fourth lap and the strong unit rode together until about 200m from the finish line, lapping most of the starters in their path. At close to 200m for the finish, Briton rose from his saddle and attacked. Jamaul and the others changed gears to counter Briton’s heroics, but only Jamaul had enough left in the tank to surge ahead of his fellow national rider. Other winners of the 15th edition of the event included: Warren McKay (Under-50), Kennard Lovell (O-50), Darius Ramsammy (Juveniles) and Antonio Junor (BMX 6-9).

John will be looking to continue his fine form when the 17th annual Hand In Hand Insurance 11-race programme is staged on Saturday at the same venue.
