North Georgetown booted from U11 football final for ineligible players

The Petra Organization, coordinators of the Courts Pee Wee U11 Primary School Football Championship, have officially disqualified North Georgetown from the tournament’s finale after the Woolford Avenue side was found guilty of fielding ineligible players.

This was disclosed in an official release from the entity. According to the correspondence, an official protest was lodged by losing semi-finalist Genesis Harmony at the end of the match against the eligibility of players Akeem Joyce and Cristino Rhodius.

The release added, that following perusal of the tournament registration records from the 2017 and 2018 editions, it was discovered that the aforementioned duo featured using different aliases and were ineligible to participate.

As such, North Georgetown is disqualified from the final. North Georgetown had defeated Genesis Harmony 2-0 to seal their maiden appearance in the final.

The correspondence added, “In addition, Coach Mr. Aubrey McKenzie has been suspended for (2) two years, from engaging and/or coaching any team or school that is participating in any tournament coordinated by the Petra Organization.”
