Nine-year-old junior table tennis sensation Jasmine Billingy stunned the field to capture the female Under – 21 title in the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) senior national championships last evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH). 

 Billingy, who is sponsored by Car Care played unbeaten in the round-robin finals to clinch her maiden senior title. 

 She defeated the 2020 girls Under – 15 champion Thuraia Thomas (second place) 11-7, 13-11, 10-12, 11-8 and also accounted for the reigning Under – 18 champion Crystal Melville (third place) 13-11, 11-7, 11-5. Samara Sukhai, her Titans Table Tennis Club mate was her third victim, whom she defeated 11-8, 7-11, 11-4, 11-7.

 The male Under – 21 title will be contested today between Jonathan Van Lange and Elishaba Johnson who both stomped their way into the finale. 

 Van Lange defeated Colin Wong 3-o in their semi-final match-up while Johnson after moving through the group stages accounted for Isaiah Layne 3-2 in the semis. 

 The C class final, on the other hand, will be contested between Troy McRae and Kyle Chung. The male and female finals are also expected to be completed today.
