In an effort to aid in the development of local sports, American offshore operating company Edison Chouest (G-Boat) Offshore, has inked a partnership with Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) for their  2020 season.

This was revealed at a simple but significant announcement held at the company’s Quamina Street location. Present at the forum were Country Manager Cory Jarreau, Daniel LaFont, the Business Development Director and YBG Director Rayad Boyce.

LaFont, during brief remarks, stated that the company’s involvement was in an effort to grow the sport locally since the sport does not have the same attraction as cricket and football.

According to LaFont, he is pleased with the efforts of the YBG organization and as such had no hesitation in aiding their effort in promoting and developing basketball.

YBG Director Boyce, thanked the company for its timely partnership which he said will aid in the development of the sport, adding that the sporting body will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2020 and is responsible for more than 80% of the school players that would have progressed to the national grid.
