A contingent from Guyana is currently in Canada participating in the Field Hockey Canada International Masters Indoor Tournament and has played unbeaten to reach the final of the event.
The Guyanese were set to take on Canada Red yesterday in the gold medal contest. Guyana, en route to the final, dished out a 10-4 drubbing on Canada White on Friday and followed up their opening win by downing Canada Red 5-4 later that evening.
They rode on their form on Saturday and accounted for England Lions 5-1 and USA 5-2 to book their spot in the final.
It is an over 40 tournament with each team being allowed to field one under 40 player.
