Following days of thrilling action Emuwnah Pross was crowned the inaugural champion of the iBet Supreme FIFA 20 ‘League of Champions’ e-Sports tournament, defeating Tevin Bremner Thursday evening in a hard-fought contest.

In what was a virtual rematch of the 2018 UEFA Champions League final, Pross, who represented the famous white shirt of Spain’s Real Madrid, defeated Bremner and England’s Liverpool 3-1 to clinch the coveted title. Ironically, the match mirrored the identical score of the aforementioned 2018 grand finale.

Pross won the first prize of $50,000, two pennyweights of gold, a trophy, a case of Monster Energy Drink and a special Church’s Chicken Meal.  Bremner’s second prize was $25,000, a case of Monster Energy Drink and a Church’s Chicken meal.

Losing finalist Tevin Bremner

Michelangelo Jacobus, coordinator of the tournament during post-match comments said, “It was an exciting last couple of matches. The final was truly a thrilling encounter which the final score line did not reflect. I believe the better player on the night won. Congratulations to Mr. Emuwnah Pross who went undefeated in the end and it was a tough loss for Tevin Bremner who was brilliant as well throughout the tournament. The level of competition has been set. I could not have asked for a better start to our (iBet) eSports drive.”

Jacobus also took time out to thank the sponsors.

“Thanks must be given to the sponsors; Church’s Chicken, Smoke Shack, A&A Game Spot, NCN and Banks DIH through their Monster Energy drink brand. The tournament was a huge success. Of course we had a few difficulties which we managed to overcome, the biggest challenge is the quality of the internet, sometimes the game would lag and that can cause a bit of a disadvantage to the players. In time, I’m sure we will find a way to overcome that, hopefully in the very near future.

“The gaming community in Guyana can look forward to much more from iBet, the final eight in the tournament will be ranked according to some criteria. They will be the first ranked gamers in Guyana and are automatically qualified for the next tournament where they will await a new set of participants in the Round of 16. Our social media streaming also went well and we had a few hundred viewers on a nightly basis coming down to the end of the tournament. We will be looking to improve on our quality and reach in the future,” Jacobus added.

In the earlier third place playoff, Jonathon Hutson (Manchester City) brushed aside Pernell Cummings (Manchester United) 7-1 in the Manchester Derby. With the win, Hutson will receive $15,000, a case of Monster Energy Drinks as well as Church’s Chicken meal.

The event was contested using an elimination two legged format (except final and 3rd Place playoff) and consisted of players battling with their favorite European club for bragging rights and the label of best in the nation.

The sponsors of the event were iBet Supreme, Banks DIH under their Monster Energy Drink, Church’s Chicken, A&A Gamespot, Smoke Shack and NCN.
