Edghill to receive US$12000 training grant from GOA

One day after landing a one-year sponsorship deal with the Guyana Lottery Company, Guyana’s Chelsea Edghill was the recipient of the largesse of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) which plunked down US$12000 towards her training for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Edghill qualified for the July 25th –August 8 games through the IOC Tripartite Elite Commission which granted her one of two spots available for the discipline.

At a press conference at the GOA’s headquarters at Liliendaal, it was disclosed the Edghill will head to Portugal to train at one of its High Performance Centres before heading to Tokyo.

She will train at the Centre of Table Tennis (CAR) and Sport Clube de Mirandela, in Portugal.

According to Godfrey Munroe, president of the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) the GOA, through Olympic Solidarity, will fund Edghill’s training adding that the cost is over US$12,000.
