Biker and passenger injured in Riverstown collision

A motorcyclist and his pillion rider have both been hospitalised following a collision with a car at Riverstown Public Road, Essequibo, on Sunday.

Those injured are the driver of the motorcycle, Lakeram Singh, 22, of Affiance, Essequibo Coast, and Khrishna Singh, 22, of Airy Hall, Essequibo Coast.

According to the police, Lakeram, while riding motorcycle CF 9313, was proceeding north along the western side of Riverstown Public Road at a fast speed, when he collided with Euwayne Isaacs, the driver of PXX 5401.

At the time of the collision, Isaacs, who was proceeding south on the eastern side of the road, turned west and the said motorcycle collided with the left side of the car.

The report stated that the motorcycle fell onto the roadway, causing both the driver and pillion rider to suffer injuries.

They were picked up, conscious, by the driver of the car and transported to the Suddie Hospital, where they were admitted as patients.

They were both listed as being in serious condition.
