Three more COVID deaths, 100 new cases confirmed

The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Saturday reported the deaths of three more men who were infected with COVID-19.

According to a press statement, the deceased are a 53-year-old man from Region Three, who died on June 14, and a 57-year-old man and a 79-year-old man from Region Six, who died on June 14 and June 22, respectively. They all died while receiving care at state medical facilities.

Based on the statistics provided by the ministry, 64 persons who were infected with COVID-19 have died from the beginning of June up to yesterday, with 15 fatalities being recorded over the past week.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll stood at 462 with the latest fatalities.

Meanwhile, the MoH also reported 100 more COVID-19 cases that were confirmed from 1,428 tests. Of those cases, 36 are from Region Four, 19 from Region Seven, 12 from Region Three, 8 from Region Nine, 7 from Region Ten, 6 each from regions Two and Six, 4 from Region One, and 2 from Region Five. 

The MoH’s COVID-19 dashboard also indicated that there were 19 persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 93 persons in institutional isolation, 1,553 in home isolation and 4 in institutional quarantine.

Based on the dashboards from last Sunday to yesterday, 801 cases have been confirmed from 8,889 tests.
