Two more succumb to COVID-19, 77 new cases reported

There have been two more COVID-19 deaths along with 77 new cases.

This was reported by the Ministry of Health in a press release yesterday which also informed that the country’s death toll now stands at 484. The latest fatalities were identified as a 59-year-old man from Region Three and a 65-year-old man from Region Four. They both died while receiving care at a medical institution.

The Ministry’s dashboard shows that the new cases have increased the country’s total confirmed cases to 20,645. These came after 920 more tests were done with the total number of tests done to date now at 195,695.

According to the regional distribution of the confirmed cases, the majority of new cases were reported in regions Ten and Four with 29 and 23 cases respectively.

There are now 1,499 active cases, 89 of whom are in institutional isolation while 1,410 are in home isolation. Some 15 persons are now patients at the COVID-19 ICU while 181 more persons have recovered, taking the total number of recovered cases to 18,647.
