In an address on the first anniversary of his government, President Irfaan Ali today chronicled the range of major projects launched by his administration,  appealed for persons to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and announced  a major drainage scheme for South Georgetown along with three outfalls similar to the Hope Canal in regions 3, 5 and 6.

A year ago today, Irfaan Ali was sworn in as President of Guyana following the months-long attempt to rig Guyana’s March 2nd 2020 general elections in favour of APNU+AFC and a return of the incumbent, former President Granger.
