U.S. attacks Islamic State after Afghan airport blast

(Reuters) – The United States attacked an Islamic State “planner” in Afghanistan in retaliation for a deadly bombing outside Kabul airport and said there was a high risk of further blasts as it nears the end of a mission to evacuate civilians and withdraw troops.

Around 1,000 East Coast house lots allocated

Approximately 1,000 low -and moderate-income persons on the East Coast of Demerara, Region Four received house lots on Friday, when the Ministry of Housing and Water and the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA), hosted another ‘Dream Realised’ housing drive.

Argentina sends humanitarian mission to Haiti

Argentina has deployed a humanitarian mission to earthquake-stricken Haiti. A statement from the Argentine Embassy in Georgetown said that 24 volunteers comprised an emergency medical team which departed the El Palomar airport on August 21st.
