The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) yesterday indicated that the senior franchise will now be named the Guyana Harpy Eagles.

According to a press release from the Board, “some level of confusion with the Caribbean Premier League Franchise team, the Guyana Amazon Warriors,” was caused as the board had announced the new name, Guyana Amazon Jaguars back in December.

Eagles have already begun training for their first assignment which is set to be the Regional First-Class season that bowls off next month.

Today, a 30-man squad will be divided into two teams to play the first of three Four-Day ‘best of the best’ matches at the Albion Community Centre ground in Berbice.
