After two years Caribbean Airlines still working on my refund

Dear Editor,

I am hoping that this letter will expose Caribbean Airlines improper business practices. In 2019, I booked a ticket to travel from New York to Guyana on July 17th, 2020, however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic all flights were cancelled. I called Carib-bean Airlines and they agreed to a full refund – I thought this was a simple, straight forward transaction, however, no refunds were issued. I called their customer service department on July 15th, 2020 requesting a refund and was informed that it could take between 30-90 days – at the end of October 2020 no refund was issued. I subsequently called on October 29th, 2020, November 19th, 2020, and November 24th, 2020, December 8th, 2020 and January 22nd, 2021 and February 10th, 2021 no refund was issued.  I called back in March of 2022 – I was told that “Someone” was working on the refund.

Each time I called, I was told “We are working on it”.  It has now been two years and no refund was issued as of April 29, 2022. This is no technical business transaction.  Why are they holding on to my hard-earned money? Plain and simple, this is called “Cheating”. I am hoping that this letter will expose Caribbean Airlines and will help me to get my refund. This is a glaring example of a business that engages in dishonest/ unscrupulous business practices. The following are the names of individuals I spoke with at Caribbean Air-lines: (1) Ande in Kingston, Jamaica on 10/29/2020, Shawnekka, in Kingston, Jamaica on 11/19/2020, (3) Charlton M in Trinidad on 11/24/2020, Shenesa in Trinidad on 12/8/2020, Charlton in Trinidad on 2/16/2021. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Rajiv R
