Former Eagles b/ball player Williams dies following car crash in the USA

Former Eagles Basketball Club first-division player Travis Williams died yesterday morning in the United States of America where he was residing.

According to reports reaching Stabroek News, Williams died after the vehicle he was driving, a Land Rover SUV, burst into flames following an accident.

Williams, who attended Alleyne’s High School on Regent Street,  was a promising point guard who played for Eagles along with players such as former national players Eon Andrews, Sean Semple and Don Fletcher, Tyco Fung, Mark `Wizic’ Pilgrim,  Allister Kramer,  former national table tennis player, Lester Cummings, Dale Phillips, Arly Pollard and Gregory Wyles.

While representing Kitty/Campbellville in the Inter-Ward competitions, the late Williams established himself as one of the better ball handlers in the country and was on the verge of national selection when he migrated to the US.
