GCC cops two titles, Old Fort and Saints Snipers grab one each

Bounty Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), Saints Snipers and GCC Tigers copped the Men’s 1st Division, Men’s 2nd Division and Women’s Division titles respectively when the Bounty Supermarket National Indoor Hockey Championship concluded on Sunday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.

In the Men’s 1st division, Bounty GCC bested Pepsi Hikers to successfully retain their championship. On the other hand, Saints Snipers dismissed Old Fort Beta 7-1 in the Men’s 2nd division final. In the Women’s divisional final, GCC Tigers edged GCC Spice 2-1 in a penalty shoot-out.

In the Veteran’s section, Old Fort downed GCC Vintage 2-0 to clinch the title. In the individual presentation, Bounty GCC’s Shane Cruickshank copped the Best Goalkeeper accolade, while Pepsi Hikers Jamarj Assanah claimed the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title in the Men’s 1st division.

In the Women’s section, Abosaide Cadogan clinched the MVP accolade, while Empress Charles of GCC Spice walked away with the Best Goalkeeper trophy.

On the other hand, Saints Snipers teammates Raoul Whittaker and Shakeem Fausette copped the Best Goalkeeper and MVP titles respectively in the Men’s 2nd division.

Meanwhile, Anthony Cole of Old Fort and GCC’s Devin Hooper walked away with the Best Goalkeeper and MVP accolades respectively in the Veteran’s section.
