Four new COVID-19 cases reported

After reporting no new cases for two consecutive days, the Ministry of Health yesterday said that four new COVID cases have since been recorded.

According to the ministry’s updated COVID-19 dashboard, the new cases were confirmed from 100 tests that were conducted.

Three of the new cases were recorded from Region Four, while the other was from Region Nine.

The dashboard also showed that while the COVID ICU remains empty, one person is now in institutional isolation while 13 are in home isolation. No new deaths were recorded and as such the country’s death toll from the virus remains at 1,281.

Guyana recorded 81 new cases along with two new COVID-19 deaths on the same day last year.
