Duncans, Bynoe, Persaud clinch archery gold

Samira and Sean Duncan, Malaika Bynoe  and Jeewanram Persaud clinched gold medals when the 2022 National Archery Indoor Championships concluded at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue, according to a release from Archery Guyana.

Samira Duncan clinched the Women’s Recurve gold medal, relegating Roshini Boodhoo and Bibi Saleema Salim to  second and third position respectively.

In the Women’s U18 Recurve section, Bynoe secured the top spot ahead of silver medalist Katiffa Fraser and bronze medalist Stephanie McTurk. Duncan also clinched gold as the lone participant in the Women’s U18 Barebow division.

In the Men’s Barebow pool, Persaud clinched the top spot ahead of Mehandra Chatargum and Muhammad Zamaluddin respectively.

Meanwhile, Sean Duncan copped the gold medal in the Men’s Recurve section, defeating Jeewanram Persaud (2nd place), and Nicholas Hing (3rd place).

Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, Secretary General of Archery Guyana, thanked the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr., and Director of Sport Steve Ninvalle, for their continued support in advancing the discipline.
