United We Stand’s Leung, John dominate in Berbice

United We Stand Cycle Club bikers, Alex Leung and Briton John took their talents to Berbice yesterday and dominated the peloton.

In a sublime display of teamwork, the club’s standout wheelsmen defied the odds and finished first and second in the Flying Ace organized 50-mile road race.

The pair crossed the finish line wheel-to-wheel but the teenager Leung, was adjudged the winner for the event which started and ended in Skeldon with Rose Hall being the turn back point.

On their way to crossing the line in 2:36.05s, Leung and John bagged nine of the 10 sprint prizes on offer with five going to the former.

Team Evolution’s Curtis Dey joined the duo on the podium while his club mate, Robin Persaud finished fourth. Romello Crawford and Chris Griffith completed the top six rewarding positions.
