Pouderoyen and Elite League outfit Fruta Conquerors battled to a 1-1 stalemate in a pre-season encounter on Monday night at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground in Bourda.
Following a scoreless first-half interval, Fruta Conquerors broke the deadlock via a 55th-minute conversion. However, the West Demerara outfit levelled proceedings in the form of Casper Evans in the 78th minute.
Latching onto a through pass from Matthew Chidume, Evans, upon racing into the penalty area, finished past the advancing goalkeeper during a one-on-one situation. This was the fourth pre-season encounter for Pouderoyen, who have intensified preparation ahead of their participation in the West Demerara Senior Men’s League. In their previous pre-season encounter, Pouderoyen dismantled the Herstelling Raiders 4-1 at the same venue.
