Guyana defeated Jamaica by five wickets yesterday in the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Super50 Championship at the St. Paul’s Sports Complex in Basseterre. St. Kitts and Nevis.

Batting first, the Jamaicans were skittled out for 72 in 27.1 overs, with Rashada Williams and Chedean Nation the top scorers with 31 and 20 runs, respectively. For the bowlers, Ashmini Munisar recorded figures of 3-11 in six overs, while Nyia Latchman and Sheneta Grimmond recorded figures of 2-1 and 2-20 apiece.

In response, the Guyanese stormed to 74/5 in 17.4 overs. Mandy Mangru and Shemaine Campbelle led the chase with 24 and 21 runs, respectively.

Meanwhile, at the Conaree Cricket Centre in St. Kitts and Nevis, the Windward Islands bested Barbados by 44 runs.

Batting first, the Windward Islands amassed 233/9 in their allotted overs. Afy Fletcher top scored with 72, while Namiah Marcellin, Zaida James, and Carena Noel supported with 30, 24, and 20 runs, respectively. Shamilia Connell was the pick of the bowlers, with figures of 4-38.

In response, the Barbadians laboured to 189/9 in their allotment. Kycia Knight led the chase with 64, while Aaliyah Alleyne supported her with an unbeaten 49. The trio of Qiana Joseph, Zaida James (2-22), and Jannelia Glasgow recorded figures of 2-21, 2-22, and 2-24, respectively.

Over at Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad & Tobago defeated the Leeward Islands by four wickets. Batting first, the Leeward Islands were dismissed for 151 in 40.2 overs. Reniece Boyce scored the most with 48 runs, while Tonya Martin was the next best scorer with 39 runs.

Caneisha Isaac tallied 3-33, while Steffie Soogrim and Samara Ramnath tallied 2-15 and 2-22, respectively. In reply, Trinidad and Tobago successfully overhauled the target in 41.1 overs, ending on 152/6. Lee-Ann Kirby and Ramnath led the way with 48 and 35 runs, respectively.
