Dear Editor, The regularity with which police stations inform victims of crime that they are unable to respond to reports because of the unavailability of a vehicle hardly needs to be emphasised.

Dear Editor, A scene too common on our roads today is that of abused, injured, overloaded or over-worked animals of animal-drawn vehicles, some of which are driven by children who are not mature enough to operate such vehicles.

Dear Editor, We the members of the Mahdia Red Thread group bought a pump to flush out the clogged pipeline which supplies water throughout our community.

Dear Editor, With reference to an article in Monday’s Stabroek News, captioned, ‘Some farmers leaving crops to rot because of low price’ (September 6), it was said that the ochro price is $5 a pound in Black Bush Polder.

Dear Editor, It is very disgusting having to travel with loud music in minibuses.

Dear Editor, We are back to school. The twelve-year march continues, at the end of which our children will be knowledgeable in the sciences and the arts and skilled in technology and sports.

Dear Editor, President Jagdeo was reported in the Guyana Times (September 2) as taking a strong position against those whom he referred to as “bigoted academics.” 

Dear Editor, In Guyana, people love to party. Many would prefer to starve themselves or borrow money for the instant gratification of attending a Ne-Yo concert or a chutney show.

Dear Editor, I applaud the editors of Stabroek News for the regrets and apology tendered for misreporting (Editor’s note accompanying the letter from Magistrate Haymant Ramdhani captioned ‘Report on Maxwell jumping into Mahaicony contained errors’ (SN, September 3).
