Mr Brumell’s clean sweep

Acting on a request from Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee, which was made public by the same minister on Monday, Police Commissioner Leroy Brumell has removed the police officers stationed at the Number 51 Village Police Station and replaced them with a new batch of law enforcers in a move he believes will reduce crime on the Corentyne and restore confidence in the Guyana Police Force – at least on the Corentyne.

Bans imposed on UDFA executives by the GFF insensitive

 Dear Editor, The eight and five-year bans imposed on the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) executives by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) under the presidency of Christopher Matthias for staging their GT Beer Tournament finals on New Year’s Day alongside the GFA Banks Beer Competition finals, disregarding the GFF decision/directive not to do so is vindictive and insensitive.

Dear Editor, Former Minister Dr H Jeffrey, joining the queue of commentators on the Colwyn Harding episode, (SN, January 22) has located his discourse in a double-barrelled context, outwit the more prevalent pronouncements generally characterized by, or infected with, the affinities of ethnic dissonance.
