Fire damages East La Penitence apartment

A small morning blaze left an apartment partially damaged after neighbours noticed thick smoke escaping through the window of a bedroom and formed a bucket brigade, managing to contain the fire until the Fire Service arrived on the scene.

Jamaica became this year’s WICB three-day champions when they crushed defending champions Windward Islands inside two days by an innings and 77 runs at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground yesterday.
