Sequal, Saints maintain lead after securing convincing wins

GCC The Sequal maintained their grip at the top of the points leaderboard in the men’s second division category of the ongoing Bounty Paper Towel – Quicker Picker Upper, Solo Drinks outdoor hockey leagues after completing another commanding win at the Saint Stanislaus College Ground yesterday.

Sequal, led by a hat-trick from Dwayne Scott, defeated YMCA Old Fort Aces 6-1. The other goals came from Devin Hooper, who netted a brace while Alan Fernandes scored the other goal. Joint leaders St Stanislaus also maintained their championship run in the women’s second division category by defeating YMCA Old Fort Wild Cats 6-0 on the back of a triple from Tekeisha DeLeon. Clayza Bobb, Charlia Webb and Sueann France were the others to find the back of the net for the winners.

Meanwhile,  the male U20 action saw YMCA Old Fort Ballerz brushing aside Old Fort Generalz 7-0. Theodore Thierens was in ripping form as he rattled the back of the net thrice. 

Shaquon Favourite supported with a brace. SHC Sumurai was alos victorious, edging SHC Storm 2-1 while Generalz in their second match of the day defeated  Storm 1-0. 

The lone girls U20 match saw Bingo GCC Spartans, who recently returned from a successful tour of Trinidad, accounting for GCC Her-Ricanes 5-0. Kirsten Gomes and Haley Carpenter each netted a brace to headline the triumph.
