Contract of CH&PA head terminated

The services of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Central Housing and Planning Authority, Lelon Saul were yesterday terminated with immediate effect and he says he finds it incomprehensible that government can sanction the firing of the head of an independent corporation.

Broadcasting Authority Board dissolved

The Board of the Guyana National Broadcasting Authority (GNBA) was yesterday dissolved with immediate effect as government says it was constituted illegally, but Chairman Leslie Sobers said he should have at least been notified beforehand.

Banking body open to funding infrastructural projects

The Bankers Association of Guyana has indicated to the government its willingness to finance infrastructural projects in the coming years According to a Ministry of Public Works release yesterday, members of the banking association paid a courtesy call on the Minister within the Ministry, Deodat Indar, to discuss “financing options” available to borrowers who intend to pursue infrastructural projects in the coming years.
