On Friday, they attended a celebration at a relative’s house, where it was reported that they both drank. After returning home the same evening, the couple began to argue after Taijram accused Amrita of cheating on him. During the heated verbal argument, the woman, who was on their bed, threatened to leave the home if the man continued to accuse her.

As a result, Taijram armed himself with a knife and then carried out the fatal attack, after which he escaped.

An alarm was raised and relatives living nearby went to render assistance. By that time Amrita had lost consciousness. The wounded woman was rushed to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police confirmed that her husband was later arrested and was in custody up to yesterday.
