PMCC wins Telenec U15 title in low-scoring affair

Port Mourant Cricket Club defeated Rose Hall Canje Arborsmart by 37 runs in a low scoring match to win the Berbice Cricket Board/Telenec under-15 final on Sunday at Albion Community Centre.

Port Mourant won the toss and opted to bat first but were bowled out for 93 in 31.4 overs. However, their bowlers returned to dismissed Rose Hall Canje for 56 in 27.1 overs.

Ravin Boodwah played the lone hand for Port Mourant with a vital 26 from 76 balls. He struck three boundaries before being bowled by Romario Ramdeholl. No other batsman scored more than five runs while Extras chalked up an unsavory 45 of which 41 were wides.

Ramdeholl ended as the most successful bowler with 3-8 and was supported by Nicholas Hall and Enrique Mickle with two wickets each for 25 and 29 runs respectively. Adrian Hetmyer, Eric Souvenir and Abdulla Azad all took a wicket.

Boodwah then returned to strangle Rose Hall Canje’s chase with a spectacular spell which saw him taking four wickets for just four runs in 10 overs, seven of which were maidens.

Boodwah was complemented by Shamar Daniels with 3-22 and his brother, Navin Boodwah with 2-13. Ramdeholl and Jaden Edwards were the only two batsmen to reach 10 while Extras accounted for 21.
