Hi-Stars and Silver Shattas recorded come-from-behind wins when the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) Senior Men’s League continued yesterday at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground, Linden.

Hi-Stars overcame a 0-1 deficit to defeat Blueberry Hill 3-1. Hi-Stars fell behind in the contest after  Roydell Allicock rifled home in the third minute. However, parity was restored when Osapho Ross  converted into the back of the net in the 36th minute.

Jermaine King then pushed Hi-Stars into the lead six minutes later as he directed his effort past the opposing custodian. The contest was then clinched, when Ross secured his double in the 79th minute, slotting his effort into the back of the net.

half goals from Alvin Richmond and Jonah Simon, overcame Coomacka 2-1. Falling behind to a well-placed Wheaton Thom strike in the 32nd minute, Silver Shattas secured the hard-fought result following two conversions in the space of 20 minutes.

Richmond commenced the comeback when he fashioned the equaliser with a conversion into the far corner in the 65th minute before Simon secured the result in the 85th minute by slamming his effort into the back of the net.

The tournament continues at the same venue today with another round of matches.
