Regions preparing for the rainy season

Even as the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) has been assiduously preparing for the upcoming rainy season, the regional administrations have also initiated projects to prepare for the season, four chairmen disclosed recently.

GTTA OK with team’s performance The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) has said that the team that went to the Caribbean Cadet and Junior Table Tennis Championships in St Kitts last week  performed at their best and the body is pleased with the outcome although Puerto Rico dethroned Guyana to take the overall title.

Dear Editor, It is impossible to overstate the significance of what is likely to emerge between the United States and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean after last weekend’s Summit of the Americas in Trinidad that basically saw President Barack Obama set a new American foreign policy tone for the region, at a time when the region was looking for a sense of direction from Washington to counter what it perceived as the rising alternative from Caracas.
