[Video] Five die after Friendship collision

Five persons were killed in a collision involving a police vehicle along the Friendship, East Bank Demerara (EBD) public road early yesterday morning and President David Granger has ordered a Commission of Inquiry (CoI) into the cause while pledging that steps will be taken to ensure the safe use of the roads by members of the security forces.

Shot guard believes miner mistook him for bandit

Security guard Rory Deegs, who was shot during the attempted robbery outside El Dorado Trading in Newtown, Kitty on Monday, says that he believes that the target of the attack, the now dead Deon Stoll, fired at him because he misidentified him as one of the robbers since he was dressed similarly at the time.

Liberty and Justice Party (LJP) presidential candidate Lenox Shuman has had discussions with APNU about a possible coalescing but says that no decision has yet been made as he is still to do a “a final analysis”.

GNIC’s delay tactics, rain prevent GDF outright win 

Unsavoury delay tactics by the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) prevented the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) from completing a well-deserved outright win in the latest round of the Noble House Seafoods, Second Division two-day competition at the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) Ground on Sunday.

Early last Saturday morning, in the Prater, an amusement park in Vienna, Austria, Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge became the first man to complete the marathon, a distance of 26.2 miles, in a time of less than two hours.
