Probe to be done after video showing cop beating civilian

Commissioner of Police (ag.)  Clifton Hicken today  expressed his dissatisfaction in relation to the physical altercation between a police rank and a member of the public, which was captured in a video that is circulating on social media, in which the police rank is seen involved in a scuffle and trading punches with a civilian whom he was trying to arrest.

Trinidad business bodies praise Guyana-T&T MoU

(Trinidad Guardian) The T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association  were both full of praise following the signing of the Guyana – T&T Memorandum of Understanding over the weekend   In a release the TTCIC said, “The recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the Governments of Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago is a significant step forward for trade and investment relations between our two countries and CARICOM as a whole.”

Remodelled Berbice police stations commissioned

Three remodelled multi-million-dollar police stations were commissioned yesterday at New Amsterdam, Albion and Whim in Berbice “This is an outstanding and a magnificent day for the Guyana Police Force in Berbice itself and the Corentyne Coast in respect of these new facilities,”  Benn said, according to a release from the police force.
