Siblings Saifullah and Fatima Gani won the men and women’s U18 gold medals when Archery Guyana staged its Inaugural Youth Championship recently at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.
This is according to a release from the entity.
In the men’s segment, Saifullah Gani emerged victorious ahead of Daniel Elliot and Muhsin Wazidali who ended in second and third place respectively.
Similarly, Fatima Gani copped the top spot in the women’s division overcoming the challenges of Summayyah Karim and Stephani McTurk who finished second and third respectively.
The tournament was contested in the Barebow division.
Serving as judges for the event were Ryan McKinnon and Robert Singh. Archery Guyana President Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, Chairman of the Competitions Committee Jeewanram Persaud and Vice-Chairman Umasankar Madray presented the medals to the respective top three finishers.
