Eagles suffer embarrassment in semis

The Guyana Harpy Eagles suffered a significant batting collapse in the CG United Regional Super50, leading to their exit from the tournament at the hands of the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, who secured a six-wicket victory  yesterday in the semi-final.

NAMILCO unveils $1.6b mixer plant

Over $1b in marijuana destroyed in Upper Berbice

Following an operation yesterday in the Upper Berbice by ranks of the Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Defence Force (Coast Guard), 30 lbs of cannabis seeds, and 10 acres with approximately 58,000 cannabis sativa plants ranging from three inches to ten feet in height were found.

La Penitence man remanded over assault

Twenty-eight-year-old Clifford Veira of Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown, appeared yesterday before acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

Ministers in outreach to Imbaimadai

A release from the Ministry of Home affairs yesterday informed that its minister, Robeson Benn, accompanied by Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat, and Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, led an outreach on Tuesday, to the mining community of Imbaimadai, in Region Seven.
