Charlotte St biker dies in Pearl accident

Police are investigating a fatal incident which occurred at around 7.30 am yesterday on the public road at Pearl, East Bank Demerara, involving a motorcycle #CM 6193, owned and driven by Mark Marks (now deceased), a 41-year-old of Charlotte Street, Georgetown.

East Canje teen on $150,000 bail after charged with manslaughter

An East Canje, Berbice teenager who was arrested in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Shawn Persaud of Betsy Ground, East Canje committed last Saturday evening, was yesterday charged with man-slaughter and placed on $150,000 bail The 17-year-old teenager yesterday appeared via Zoom at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh where he was read the manslaughter charge.

Consultancy contract signed for gas to energy transmission lines

Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar, representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister, STANTEC and the Gas to Energy Task Force were present at the signing on Thursday of the Supervision Consultancy Services Contract for the construction of the 230 kV and 69 kV Power Evacua-tion, Interconnection and Substation Distribution Systems for the planned 300MW CCGT Power Plant Project.
