UN Security Council delays vote on Gaza aid until today

GAZA/UNITED NATIONS/CAIRO, (Reuters) – U.N. Security Council diplomats delayed until today a vote on a resolution to increase humanitarian aid into Gaza and another round of talks took place in Egypt to try to get warring Israel and Hamas to agree on a new truce so hostages can be released.

Truck runs into Parliament Buildings fence; cop, driver hit in second collision

By Subhana Shiwmangal A constable stationed at the Brickdam Police Station’s Traffic Department along with a tow truck driver were yesterday morning injured at an accident site at Avenue of the Republic and Brickdam after a truck had earlier slammed  into the eastern fence of Public Buildings It was reported that the accident which occurred yesterday between 3 am and 3.30 am involved police constable, Kyvon James, 25, of Hashim Street, Corriverton, Berbice; a motor car, PAB 3071, driven by Osafo Cranmore, 42, of Lot 157 West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, Georgetown; a truck, GLL 3695, owned and driven by Chandica Balram, 64, of Lot 35 Robb Street, Bourda, Georgetown;  a motor car, PAF 4021, owned and driven by Sabrina Bhajan, 32, of  86 Farm Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara; and a tow truck, GAF 1396, owned and driven by Harinarine Satnarine , 48, of Lot 1B Shell Road, Kitty, Georgetown.

Separation of powers was not breached

In dismissing the elections petition appeal on Monday, Chancellor of the Judiciary (ag), Yonette Cummings-Edwards rejected the argument that the genesis of the recount order for the March 2020 general elections had transgressed the separation of powers doctrine.
