Dear Editor, The struggles of bauxite workers since May 2009, have to be seen in the context of a policy carried out by the government on its ascension to office in the hope of bringing these workers to their knees and destroying their union, the Guyana Bauxite & General Workers Union (GB&GWU).

Dear Editor, It is becoming increasingly difficult to support this PPP government and the PPP party amidst the numerous accusations and reports of fraud and corruption.

Dear Editor, Guyanese are indebted to Stabroek News and the Times of India for the news that some months ago, the Jagdeo administration signed away more than one million eight hundred thousand acres of land to an Indian businessman who plans to cut and ship logs to India to make furniture.

Dear Editor, I refer to the press conference held by the Chairman of the Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) relating to the robbery at the BV Post Office, which was reported in the papers on April 8.

Dear Editor, Recently, a private group of citizens signed their names to an open letter addressed to Erik Solheim, Norway’s Minister of the Environment and International Development.

Dear Editor, I am a resident of Sand Road Liliendal. My garbage has not been collected for 2 weeks now.

Dear Editor, It seems the NCN Linden television has gone full swing with the Christianburg Magistrate’s Court.

Dear Editor, It should be brought to the public’s attention and by extension that of Mr Abdul Jabar, Registrar of Friendly Societies, that the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) Annual General Meeting scheduled for Saturday, April 16, 2011, at the Ocean View Hotel Convention Centre, should be declared null and void and illegal.

Dear Editor, My letter dated April 6, captioned ‘Ramotar will not make a good president’ drew widespread agreement, but did not find favour with the current Speaker of Parliament, Mr Ralph Ramkarran, who was himself a prime candidate in the PPP selection process.

Dear Editor, Now that the storm in a teacup in relation to the reported dispute between Freddie Kissoon and the publisher of the Kaieteur News has passed, I wish to make a few pertinent observations on this brief episode.

Dear Editor, I would like to say “hear, hear,” to the letter by Mr Lincoln Lewis on April 7 in which he mentioned liberation theology and discussed the Trotman-Jagdeo episode at the National Park (‘Saturday night’s encounter should have encouraged Jagdeo, Trotman to walk the talk’).

Dear Editor, With the fiasco at the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) in Georgetown, I think none of the members should seek re-election; let past cricketers take over the positions.

Dear Editor, As reported by SN, the bids have now been opened for construction of the major structures for the Hope Canal Project and hopefully after the documents have been analyzed contracts will be awarded to the lowest evaluated bidders.

Dear Editor,Policewoman Neebert Isaacs lived to protect people, but got no protection for herself. 

Dear Editor, After seeing today’s (April 6,) letter about garbage collection ceasing by S&H Contracting on the WBD, I would like to add that for the last year, we’ve been having on and off collection by the same company, for Pigeon Island and Chateau Margot, ECD also (‘Garbage collection at Westminster, WCD has ceased’).

Dear Editor, Some time ago, I carried out a very rudimentary experiment and offered my conclusion in a letter to you. 

Dear Editor, I want to personally congratulate Mr David Granger and Mr Donald Ramotar on their elevation as the respective candidates of the PNC and PPP.
