Dear Editor, After seeing today’s (April 6,) letter about garbage collection ceasing by S&H Contracting on the WBD, I would like to add that for the last year, we’ve been having on and off collection by the same company, for Pigeon Island and Chateau Margot, ECD also (‘Garbage collection at Westminster, WCD has ceased’).

Dear Editor, Some time ago, I carried out a very rudimentary experiment and offered my conclusion in a letter to you.

Dear Editor, As an ex-member of the army, I always remember that safety and security is the business of every citizen of Guyana, and I don’t think that anyone in their right senses is going to instruct a magistrate to travel in a speedboat to conduct state business in the interior (Bartica), an area where innocent citizens lost their lives in a massacre.

Dear Editor, President Jagdeo who holds such high office should be ashamed of himself for making the speech he did at Babu John.

Dear Editor, Last month I wrote a letter in  which I talked about Ralph Ramkarran and Moses Nagamootoo and their prospects in the presidential selection process in the PPP and in your blog section the same day, Mr Ramkarran wrote a blog accusing me of “drinking soup” and insinuating that I was looking out for some kind of hand-out from this government.

Dear Editor, With respect to the voice who was reported to have made a rather ‘guttered’ response to Mr Yesu Persaud’s utterance regarding political interventions in the management of GuySuCo, one can only come to the conclusion that the respondent was either a rehired retiree, who was out of touch with the realities of the organisation’s decision-making structure, or was much too reluctant to apprehend what managers, and others in the corporation, readily attest to as an ongoing experience – ranging from appointments, promotions, terminations; not to mention, his/her own lauded ‘turnaround’ which seems incapable of ‘turning up’ or ‘forward.’

Dear Editor, I read with interest that the West Indies Cricket Board is contemplating performance related pay for players.
