Dear Editor,    The last time I spoke to Comrade Komal Chand was a day or two before he departed for Cuba.

Dear Editor,    Guyana continues to endure the unprecedented General Election impasse and heightened tension as a consequence of hesitancy on the part of the Chairperson of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) to adopt the Chief Election Officer’s (CEO) final report for the March 2, 2020 declared election results. 

Dear Editor,     When the news highlights the slow reaction of the Ministry towards the testing of the virus and the lack of hedging in the oil market it becomes clear that there is a problem.

Dear Editor,  The signatories to the letter ‘Mr. Granger no longer entitled to be called President’ (SN April 10), was very clear and explicit that ‘from 21st December 2018 Guyana did not have a president or any ministers’. 

Dear Editor,  These are very challenging times for all Guyanese. It has impacted our lives in many ways and has brought out the humanitarian nature in many of our compatriots and some of our business people while it has also brought out the worst in others who have sought to exploit the situation.  

Dear Editor, On 21st December 2018 the APNU+AFC Coalition government lost a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly.

Dear Editor, I wish to take this opportunity to appeal to the wider public as we approach this Easter Weekend to please for your own safety and that of the people of our hinterland communities to please stay home.

Dear Editor, Over the last few weeks, Exxon has been busy reassuring its shareholders they will receive their dividend cheques and donating meals and cash to those in need in New Mexico and Texas.

Dear Editor, In August 2011 a Request for Proposal was issued by Mr Rickford Lowe (Coordinator, Works Service Group, Ministry of Public Works and Communications) for a Feasibility Study and Design of the East Coast Road from Better Hope to Bellfield.

Dear Editor, I was profoundly saddened when I heard that Komal Chand has passed away.

Dear Editor, The proposal by GECOM to take 156 days to count 472,000 votes has been commented upon by others.

Dear Editor, I was deeply shocked to learn of the death of John Lewis.

Dear Editor, That announcement from GTT about a pay cut leaves a bad taste in the mouth and all over. 

Dear Editor, The coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to cause significant changes in many areas of our lives and many of these changes are explained on both mass media and social media.

Dear Editor, While any schoolchild could calculate that 450,000 votes could easily be counted and verified by 20-30 persons in a week, it boggles the mind that the Secretariat of the Elections Commission would try to defend its ludicrous 156-day timeframe with a press release as reported in the media; one which goes on to criticise members of its own governing body.

Dear Editor, As disturbing as the numerous distortions and fabrications coming from APNU+AFC have been over the last few weeks, with regard what transpired during the Region Four vote tabulation, the recent attack on the Private Sector Commission is probably the most disturbing. 

Dear Editor, I read with complete disbelief reports that the Chief Election Officer Keith Lowenfield stated it will take 156 days to count the votes cast in Guyana’s March 2nd elections.

Dear Editor, I have just read the Chief Election Officer Lowenfield’s proposal for the recounting of the ballots of the March 2, elections.

Dear Editor, It is with profound sadness that I learnt of the passing of Komal Chand CCH.

Dear Editor, As a homeschooling mum to a four-year-old and having previously exclusively homeschooled another child to grade 8, as well as being a former high school teacher of Biology and Environmental Science in the United States for three years, I would like to offer my assistance to families whose children’s education switched to the home.
