LIAT to wind up January 24

(Barbados Today) Almost 50 years after returning to the skies under the ownership of Caribbean governments, the 67-year-old island-hopper LIAT is to wind up in its current form –  LIAT (1974) Ltd – on January 24, its court-appointed administrator confirmed on Thursday.

Fixtures revealed for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and the USA

(ICC) The pinnacle ICC men’s T20 event will see a record 20 teams divided into four groups competing across 55 games for the right to be crowned ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Champions 2024, including co-hosts the West Indies and the USA, together with the other qualifiers: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, England, India, Ireland, Namibia, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Uganda.

Basketball, football group sets up in Region Three

With the registration of the D-UP Basketball and Football Academy Friendly Society, young people in Cornelia Ida, Tuschen, and Parika on the West Coast Demerara (WCD) and East Bank Essequibo , Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara), will now have access to sports training activities, a release from the Ministry of Labour said yesterday.
