Harpy Eagles Head Coach ‘intrigued’ to see young players in action

By Michaelangelo Jacobus The first of two Guyana Harpy Eagles four-day practice matches featuring a large pool of youngsters and senior national players bowls off today at the GCC Ground, Bourda from 9:30 am and Head Coach of the National team, Ryan Hercules has said that his interest is piqued as the players will vie for spots in the national setup.

GFF January transfer window open

With the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) January transfer window now open,  clubs will have the opportunity to bolster their rosters ahead of the impending season  which will also see the GFF’s  Elite League Season Six kick off in February. 

No increase in price of sugar

Dear Editor, The Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) notes with concern an article in Yesterday’s edition of the (January 8, 2024) Stabroek News, page 13 where the contributor sought to portray the image that “a pound of sugar that cost $120/$140 a couple months back; now costs $200”.

At his year-end press conference Agriculture Minister Zulfikar Mustapha, disclosed that the planned Barbados/Guyana Food Terminal, supposedly a critical cog in the wheel of regional food security is, after more than a year, still awaiting approval from the Town and Country Planning of Barbados and that the project will see development work this year.
