Former police detective charged over ammo

Former police detective, Ron Fletchman, 46, of Lot 38 Melanie, East Coast Demerara, appeared before Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday where he was charged with possession of ammunition without a licence.

Cannabis farm destroyed at De Veldt

A joint operation by ranks of the Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Defence Force (Coast Guard) has led to the discovery of twenty acres with approximately 50,000 cannabis sativa plants ranging from three inches to six feet in height and about 500 pounds of dry cannabis sativa in one of the camps.
